A new crowdsourcing venture looks to fund the refurbishment of the interior of Eileen Gray’s famous villa E1027 in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin.

EG Film Productions Limited, Lightstream Pictures and Saga Film, who are producing the Eileen Gray movie entitled ‘The Price of Desire’, have partnered to complete permanent restoration work on Eileen Gray’s iconic Villa E-1027. They have opted to generate funds via Kickstarter, with a goal of raising $40,000.

The partnership aims to enhance budgets that are already in place in order to contribute permanently to the restoration of the site with work that is in keeping with, and faithful to, the original design. Should the fundraising exceed the target set, this additional money could be used for the restoration of the overall site and the rendering of the site cinematically in the film.

The team have been granted unprecedented access to the site for the shooting of ‘The Price of Desire‘, and to give a more authentic depiction of the villa on film, they have undertaken to complete restoration works. Thus this Kickstarter campaign to raise the necessary funds has been launced.

By contributing to the fund, you will be playing a meaningful and significant role, both behind and in front of the camera, by participating in a project intended to ensure the recognition and restitution of Eileen Gray’s legacy. In return for your contribution ($150), you can get yourself a role in the film as an extra in a number of the scenes being shot in and around Roquebrune-Cap-Martin.

The cast for the film will be announced at a special event during the Festival de Cannes, on May 18th, 2013.
